India may not constantly have had a populace of over a billion people, yet the subcontinent has constantly been home to numerous religions, ethnic cultures and realms, so there is much more than one tale here of LGBTQ+ civil liberties and recognition. As a whole, though, India was traditionally tolerant of LGBTQ+ connections, with the exception of
